Cathedral St-Andre   Cathedral St-Andre

After lunch we visited the medieval Cathedral St-André whose shaded north-east corner is shown above (left). The interior is light and spacious due to the lofty roof and numerous windows. The picture (above right) shows the chancel at the east end of the cathedral.

Above left: One of the many colourful windows in the cathedral. Above right: The nave and great organ at the west end of the cathedral. Protruding from the north wall is an enormous ornately decorated pulpit, shown in detail below left.

Above: The pulpit (left) on the north wall of the nave. The view (right) is looking east from near the great organ, through the nave towards the chancel and east windows.


Below: As we emerged from the north entrance of the cathedral we were greeted by the expressive faces of three sculptured saints.
